Red Dead Redemption (Playstation 3)

Red Dead Redemption is a celebration of outlaws, the wild west and settling disputes the old fashioned way (Spoiler Alert: expect blood). The game also possesses stunningly rendered landscapes of the American West, from the smallest cactus to the dingiest saloon, the graphics in this superb adventure game are absolutely spot-on.

Players control John Marston, a man with a short temper and an even shorter life expectancy. Everywhere players lead John he will be confronted with bandits, bounty hunters and wild animals all hell-bent on seeing him dead. The only way for John to survive is to traverse the rugged terrain and bring law to a lawless land.

The multi-player mode is certain to be a favourite with every game beginning with an old fashioned Mexican-standoff. Red Dead Redemption also a features a free-roaming mode, where players can wreak havoc with no fear of repercussions. If only life were that simple.
